Good morning from NOT SO SUNNY San Francisco.
If you have been following me on my other socials OR know me outside of social media, then you already know what the title of this blog is about. Just in case you don’t know, here’s the short and sweet of it: I MOVING TO SAN FRANCISCO at the end of the month.
My new job starts the last week of February, so I’m here for the next week or so to hopefully find housing. My goal is to look at apartment building for now and once I’ve completed my one year probationary period (and hopefully cleaned up my credit a bit) I will either stay with the job and the area maybe even see if I could buy a home (probably not it’s VERY expensive) or rent a condo/house. Or I’ll transfer to another work assignment in a different region within my new company.
Alright, so I arrived at SF airport yesterday afternoon after almost 8 hours of flying. Made my way slowly (bum knee, aggravated heel planar fasciitis) to baggage claim and then rental car. I drove to my Airbnb after getting lost and driving around the streets (avoiding highways), I finally made it into the space. It’s a really nice small guest apartment on the ground floor of a Mediterranean style home. By the time I arrived, I was hungry and sleepy, so I went out to get some groceries for next week and after a small dinner I went my azz to bed.
That was my arrival day. Today, I woke up this morning, cold AF. The BnB has a fireplace that I had on last night for the cold, but turned off early morning cause I get hot and congested. I turned fireplace on to warm me up and after the rain stops I will venture out again. I’m still kind of tired and jetlagged, so today I may not go out to tour apartments, but I do plan to try to find a Target or something to pick up a few things. After Target, I’ll be back at the Airbnb and spend the day strategizing what apartments I want to schedule a tour for. So at least then I can hit the ground running and energized tomorrow.
Oh, one thing I did realize while doing all that driving yesterday, I have decided I DO NOT like the hills in SF 🤦🏾. I will stick to NON-HILLY cities in the bay 🤨. So Oakland you’re back on top.
