Alright…time for my #Sherlock #Rewatch. Tonight I’m finishing up Season 1 with the season finale episode…”The Great Game”. If I recall correctly, this is the episode where we first meet the Big M in the flesh. One of, if not the GOAT, criminal Archnemisis ever written, IMO.

Can’t believe I’ve gotten to episode 3 and forgot to mention how well done the OST them for the series was. Damn melody was for sure stuck in my head when the series first aired in the US.

Sherlock just randomly shooting a gun at the wall in the apartment out of boredom is never not funny to me. Like are they even allowed guns like that ove there…LOL. Like did they even neighbors?

Also, not for nothing, but when Sherlock said he only remembers important things cause his mind is his hard drive and he only put things in there that are “useful…REALLY useful…” Chile… Sherlock …

Baybay, cause when I tell you ask me something about Microbiology or something science related or my latest science obsession, and I could tallk yo head off with knowledge, but ask me the name of someone literally see everyday but don’t actually work with…this is me…

“Ordinary people fill their will all kinds of rubbish. That makes it hard to get at the stuff that really matters…” – Sherlock Holmes

Also, Mrs. Hudson continually treating Holmes and Watson like they were a couple will NEVER not tickle me.

I love the way the relationship between Sherlock and Mycroft was portrayed. I didn’t hate it in the movie version w/RDJ and Jude Law, but IMHO the relationship in this series felt more like the book than the movie, except the book look was more like Fry

LIke…ok…I admit…I will walk past a accident scene or some loud altercation like I ain’t heard or seen shit, but I just cannot imagine walking past someone just sitting in a car with a bomb strapped to their chest and like no one being nosey enough to notice for like 12 hours?

So like so many parts of this episode really showed the possible sociopathic traits that #Sherlock exhibited, but even he was a full-traited sociopath. I guess today they’d say he had traits of high-functioning autism…ya know what…

Chile…now #Sherlock ain’t have to break Molly’s soul like that using his deductive reasoning to out “Jim”. Like damn…poor Molly🫢🫢

Sherlock “I’m not ignoring it. I’m putting my best man on it now…” (not saying but meaning Watson…) Watson “Who’s dat…”

So like…what kinda personality do you have to have to be part of the bomb squad. LIke ya gotta have nerves of steel right!!! Like my nerves are not crazy bad, but chile, I could nevah…!!!

Now I can surely see folks missing the lady in the car all strapped in w/the device, but a man standing in a crowded square crying visibly on the phones with wires visibly sticking out of his jacket…Soooo nobody, not one person look back at him like…

Lordt…that chick from the police department irked my nerves the first time I watched the series and still irks me upon rewatch. Lordt…

As a clinical lab scientist, biggest pet peeve watching criminal drama or mysteries or anything where a laboratory is involved…the speed and ease with which testing and diagnosis is done which complicated test that would NEVER be so quick and easy performed by layman.

You could say #Sherlock is more sociopathic than psychopathic, but the same cannot be said of Moriarty …”lack of empathy, manipulativeness, superficial charm, egocentricity, and a propensity for criminal or antisocial behavior” add his use of the old blind lady…diabolical.

Chile…they better be lucky that old lady ain’t just have a heart attack and die…but I guess wouldn’t matter anyway? The bomb would just be detonated regardless? Poor old lady…

The only thing the series didn’t use much of was Sherlock’s use of disguises. I really did enjoy the use of them in the movie version with RDJ and Jude Law. I don’t recall them using the device in the series…#Sherlock did mention the use of disguises in this ep…

Chile…smh…if you truly held government secrets in your brain…why dafuq would you not only drink enough to be all blabby, but also why dafuq would you bring ya work home with you…smh

Finally the big reveal book readers were all waiting for…MORIARTY!

For my money, Andrew Scott is the BEST version of “Jim” Moriarty. He was so good. Just the right amount of amount of charm, swarm and menace….so damn good.
The fact that we had to wait TWO FUQ’N YEARS for Season 2 and the “resolution” to that damn cliffhanger ending!!!

Welp…season 1 of Sherlock series rewatch is in the books!!! It was just as exhilarating as the first time I watched the series way back in 2010? So it’s basically been almost 15 years since the first season premiered! This rewatch was legit as much fun as my first watch 15 years ago. Can’t wait to continue rewatch of the rest of the seasons.
If you enjoyed this bit of observations during my rewatch of season 1, come back next weekend and we’ll get into Season 2. I hope you enjoyed this rewatch as much as I enjoyed it myself.
