So last fall, my Monday viewing lineup wasn’t really anything to scream at. At the beginning of last fall season, the only show from last season that I consistently kept up with was Sleepy Hollow. I started out watching it LIVE, but when it became apparent it was turning into the Crane family drama, I basically taped out of it. I kept up with recaps and on twitter, but I barely if at all watched a new episode, but it was a DVR staple, so I’d occasionally catch an ep.
This fall season, there really isn’t any returning shows I’m interested in. I figured I’d give Sleepy Hollow another chance, but Sleepy Hollow is no longer on Mondays (It’s moved to Thursdays after Bones…more on that for Thursday’s list), and I didn’t really watch anything else on Mondays. But there are some returning show that gets alot of buzz, so briefly…
Returning Shows
Big Bang Theory has moved from Thursday to Monday on CBS. I haven’t watched this show LIVES in ages. But to be honest, for me I really only still care about Sheldon & Amy. The other folk…COULD.CARE.LESS. So I wont be watching BBT, but it will earn a place on my DVR queue.
Gotham, on FOX…I started out watching the show, but then I just lost interest, for no real reason, but I think it’s cause even though I know the Batman/Gotham “mythology”, I’m not really a big DC Comics fan (other than Wonder Woman, I’m a Marvel girl!). Besides, no Jada Pinkett…no me!
New Shows
First up, Supergirl on CBS. I’ll admit, I wasn’t that keen on the show when it was announced. I mean, I’m more a Wonder Woman girl than Supergirl, but I freely admit, I LOVE Supergirl, the movie, with Helen Slater as Supergirl and the fabulous Faye Dunaway as Selena! Hell, I was all of 8 years old…DON’T JUDGE ME! My hope for the new show is that they don’t turn it into some sort of “New Girl”/”Mindy Project” RomCom. Give me the action and modern twist that Smallville, Arrow and the like have. Anyway, you can check out the trailer here: Supergirl TV Show Trailer. It has a borderline RomCom feel, but it does have one thing going for it, Mechad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen…yes please!
The next new show is Minority Report on FOX. It’s based on the movie with Tom Cruise, where the “pre-cogs” predict crime before it happens and the police force use them to prevent crimes from happening. It stars Meagen Good as the police officer and some dude named Stark Sands. I vaguely remember liking the movie and I’m up for any good sci-fi story telling, but let’s be honest here, Meagan Good does not have the best track record when it comes to tv shows. This is only her 3rd “main cast” role and she’s only ever been a recurring cast member (usual in the dying season). That last show she had…Deception…never watched it and I can honestly barely remember what it was about. This how though, the premise is interesting and if done right, it could be good, but Fox hasn’t had the best track record for sci-fi shows with not quite mainstream plotlines making it outside of the first season. So we’ll see. I plan to DVR it, but I suspect I won’t watch the show until I know whether or not it will last. We’ll see.
So out of all the new network shows coming on Monday, the one I’m most interested in is Blindspot on NBC. You’ve seen the trailer right (if not check it out here: Blindspot). A bag in left in the middle of Times Square. It says “Call the FBI”. Inside is a naked woman, cover from rooter to tooter (actually just from neck down), front and back with tattoos and no idea who she is, or where she came from or what is up with all the darn tattoos. According to what I read, every tattoo is a clue to who and what she is and the audience will be able to decipher them at home and see how it plays out on the show. It could be really cool to watch. I love playing mystery games, so this is right up my alley. The tattoo bit and the loss of memory, is very reminiscent of that Guy Pearce movie, Memento. Loved that movie. Just FYI, even if you don’t watch Blindspot, ya gotta check out Memento. You won’t regret it.
So there you have it…Monday is def a better day or new show premieres than Sunday was. What new Monday shows are you interested in or what returning shows are you looking forward to watching on Mondays?
I wanna see Supergirl and Blindspot. I’m iffy on Minority Report

As you can see, I totally agree about Minority Report…first cause Meagan Good just really ain’t that good, IMHO and cause Fox just doesn’t have a great track record with sci-fi shows since X-Files, again IMHO
