If ya know me, then you should know that I LOVE BRIDGET JONES and any excuse to see COLIN FIRTH as romantic leading man, I am all for!! So, it shouldn’t surprise you that when I heard that the author of Bridget Jones Diary was writing another installment, then you know I first reaction was…YESSSSSSSS!! You would also know that my 2nd reaction was OOOOH more COLIN FIRTH aka MARK DARCY.
YUMMY…Colin Firth
Anyhoo if you read the last book in the series or just saw the movie, then you know that our favorite singleton bagged the loverly and very uptight good guy Mark Darcy and supposedly left Daniel Cleaver (aka Hugh Grant) in the trash bin. It has been 14 LONG years since the original story ended in the book and it’s been almost 10 years since the last film installment was released.
The new installment has an official title: “Bridget Jones Diary: Mad About The Boy”.

So what do we have to look forward to? Is Bridget and Mark still together? Is Daniel Cleaver still a part of her life? Is Bridget still keeping a diary, or is she into blogging and twitter (all things that weren’t around for the original story). For the most part, Helen Fielding is being mum on the situation, but check out this excerpt quoted by the article from the Today Show:
Her newest rule? “Do not text when drunk.” In an excerpt, the entry reads:
“You see, this is the trouble with the modern world. If it was the days of letter-writing, I would never even have started to find his address, a pen, a piece of paper, an envelope, a stamp, and gone outside at 11.30 p.m. to find a postbox. A text is gone at the brush of a fingertip, like a nuclear bomb or Exocet missile.
So, fellow “Singletons”, what to see happen both in the books and if (when) an eventual third movie installment of the book happens at the very least if they have Colin Firth and Renee Zellweger, I’d be happy. Throw in a little Hugh Grant and I’d be good too.
